Students in grades 5-8 will have the opportunity to choose between two classes: one group will be led by Tammy Craft (Sheila Mathews, assistant) and the other group will be led by Jeff Smith (Kelly Showalter, assistant). Kathy Feuchtenberger has agreed to serve as an alternate assistant for both classes. Other teachers and assistants are needed in these classrooms, so volunteer if you feel led to help!
Tammy Craft’s class will use the "Frequently Asked Questions" curriculum from the We Believe series, published by the Presbyterian Publishing Corp. They will meet in Room 300 (on the third floor, the former "Middle School" room).
Jeff Smith’s class will focus on getting to know their Bibles better. They will meet in Room 301 (on the third floor, the former "High School" room). An exciting new curricula is currently being examined for this classroom.
9th-12th graders and college students: a completely new class with lead teachers Beth and Drew Newman (Monty Leitch, alternate) that will meet in Room 104, on the ground level across from the Resource Room. The 9th-12th-grade room will be completely re-decorated and re-outfitted so that it’s suitable to the older students: comfy chairs, couches, coffee pot, TV and DVD-player . . . a real "hang-out" for discussions and learning! The curriculum will be the NOOMA series of DVD discussion-starters.
Other classes will be much as in the past:
Pre-schoolers and K-2
will be combined in one class, meeting in Room 102, with teachers Lu Vacca, Carrol Morgan, Cyndi Hamilton, and Kelly Stulce. CEMT has included pre-schoolers with Kindergarten because, at the moment, our congregation has very few pre-schoolers enrolled in Sunday School.
Finally, grades 3-4 will meet in Room 101 with lead teachers Sharyl Walker and Melissa Lawson, and assistants Lori Davidson and Tara Owens. These younger students will be using the We Believe curriculum from Presbyterian Publishing Corp.
Adult classes will continue as in the past:
Practical Christian Living – Main Level, Fellowship Hall, street end, facilitator Ken Smith. Members read and discuss various books by contemporary authors, such as David Jeremiah, Max Lucado, and Rick Warren.
Bible Study – Main Level, Fellowship Hall, kitchen end, teacher Herb Miller. Members study the Bible in depth, one book at a time.
Open Forum – Room 202 (Parlor on the Main Level), facilitator Vicki Kitts. Members read and discuss various contemporary books that put together scripture and faith.
Ladies’ Bible Class – Room 201 (Session Room on Main Level), teachers Ginny Ketterer, Estelle Dobbins, and Peggy Walker. Members study The Present Word, a quarterly Bible study using the cycle of the Cooperative Uniform Series.
Men’s Bible Class – Library, on Main Level, teacher T.P. Davis. This class also uses The Present Word, a quarterly Bible study using the cycle of the Cooperative Uniform Series.
Come and learn! And, most importantly, have fun in fellowship!
