Sunday Worship Service

Sunday worship begins at 11 a.m.  Children of all ages are welcomed at all worship services, and children's sermons are a regular part of morning worship. A nursery is available for infants and toddlers for the entire service, and Children's Church for preschool through second grade is available following the children's sermon.

Special services are held on Ash Wednesday, Maundy Thursday, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas Eve. Some of these services are planned with other churches in the community.

Communion

Communion is celebrated every Sunday morning. Special communion services are celebrated on Maundy Thursday and Christmas Eve. Communion is open to all baptized persons.

By contacting the pastor or the church office, arrangements will be made to provide communion to those who are confined to their home, to a nursing home, or to the hospital.

Baptism

The Sacrament of Baptism is administered to adults making their profession of faith and to infants based on the faith of their parents. The child will then make a profession of faith after participating in a confirmation class and being received by the Session.

Music Program

Our church's music program has a long tradition of leading worship. Three vocal choirs and three handbell choirs are active, with groups including members from five-years-old through adults. These offerings are supplemented by regular use of a variety of musical instruments, drawing from the talented members of CPC and the community.

Rehearsal times and groupings are adjusted yearly to meet the needs of the congregation. The choirs are always happy to have new members, and the directors will be pleased to discuss the music program with any interested persons.

Church School

Church School is held each Sunday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. Classes are available for all ages from infants through a variety of adult offerings.

A fellowship time follows the Church School hour each Sunday morning in the Fellowship Hall, when individuals gather for coffee and other beverages prior to the worship service.

Wellspring at CPC

Wellspring at CPC is a ministry of spiritual development and wholeness.  It is located at 175 West Main Street, just two doors up the street from CPC.

Wellspring provides on-going resources in healing and renewal;  training and education in religious experience, spiritual disciplines, and practices; relaxation, pain and stress relief; sensitivity awareness; and therapeutic healing through massage, guided imagery, aromatherapy, and healing touch.  If you are interested or have questions, please speak with Jennifer Makin, or leave a message at the church office (382-2802) or at Wellspring (382-6510).

Stretching Body and Spirit ~ a Christian Way of Yoga

Through a gentle hatha yoga workout, coupled with meditative Christian chants and prayer, CPC’s Christian yoga class invites participants to explore the role of the body in Christian spiritual formation.  The class meets each Tuesday, 5:30-7:00 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall, and is for anyone of middle school age and older.  Wear comfortable clothing, and bring a yoga/exercise mat if you have one (a few extra mats are available to borrow, if needed).
