Each year our Synod of the Mid-Atlantic sponsors a specialThanksgiving offering in support of the Synod’s ministries for children. CPC has traditionally designated our giftsto this offering for the Presbyterian Children’s Home of the Highlands inWytheville, and we will do so again this year.PCHH has provided a restorativeministry in a Christian environment to abused and neglected children ofAppalachia since 1919. Around 100 boys and girls receive services annually from thisministry. The Home’s mission, “GivingChildren Hope & Purpose for the Future,” is accomplished through a varietyof programs. These include an accreditedon-campus school, individual and group counseling, vocational training, and exposureto a variety of cultural and educational activities. PCHH accepts children on an emergency and long-term basis andalso provides an independent living program for children who are preparing toleave the home and strike out on their own. All of PCHH’s programs are designed to provide individualizedcare to the children they serve. Formore information, please check out their web site at www.pchh.org. At CPC, we will receive thisoffering on Sunday, November 18.
